An amazing turn around for an old fir floor.

wow, its not that often i am really surprised at the results of a repair, sand stain and finish.

I was this time though. When I first looked at this floor to quote the job, I noticed large tears in the wood along the largest board joins. It looked as if each board had been glued together as they were installed. Probably in an attempt to stop the eight inch boards from shrinking. Well, shrink they did, and tore away from the glue in the process. So, I cut along each spot that happened, and Installed a strip about an inch and a half wide in the gaps tight fit. Then drilled half inch wide holes, screwed the strips and neighboring boards down, and cut plugs to fill the holes. It looked horrendous half way through, A little better once done, and , I think, terrific once finished.
